Springbank is one of the few remaining family owned distilleries in Scotland and had acquired a ‘grand cru’ status in the 1980s and 1990s, thanks to a rather early small batch policy and some thrilling bottlings such as the famous ‘100 proofs’ and, later on the ‘Local Barleys’.
